Nadine Mellor

Nadine is the Editor of the Kids Collection – over 850 stylish family-friendly places to stay worldwide – as curated by the boutique hotel and hip hideaways experts, i-escape.com.

She lives in North London where she was born and raised and has an adventure every month – big or small, come rain or shine. She had circumnavigated the globe by the time she was three, has dual Australian-British nationality, and her adventurous nature has taken her to places far and wide, including San Francisco where her two children were born.

Travel is not her only passion. It combines nicely with birding (she has a two-shelf deep collection of bird-books) and photography.

Who do you most admire?

Those who possess vision as well as the tenacity to realise their dreams.

What are your favourite possessions?

Family heirlooms, including my grandfather’s Great War medals & OBE, and the portrait of my Grannie’s grandmother’s grandmother. My second-hand clothes collection and vintage jewellery.

Tell us about your perfect day or weekend...

Outings with my family – a jaunt to a bird reserve, a country walk, visiting friends for the weekend, which also involves some lovely grub, and perhaps some vintage shopping – with the sun shining all the while.

What makes you happiest?

The excitement of exploring new places. Date nights with my husband. Summer festivals. Cuddling the children at bedtime while reading stories.

What would you like to do in the future?

Tick off more from the list of places to visit, grow i-escape’s Kids Collection, and extend our house so we can have more guests to stay!
